Hey there. My name is Darcy. I have been lovin’ Jesus ever since I was seven years old. I have been married to Shawn since Dec. 3, 1994. We have three children Cameron Ward (11), Taylor Grace (9), and Emma Rose (5). Together we live in the tree barren city of Elk Grove, Ca, just minutes from our state capitol. The Lord brought us here in 2005 when Shawn accepted the position as Worship Pastor at Impact Community Church.
We thought we were quite settled as I was working at our church as the Event/Guest Services Director and our kids were attending an unbelievable Christian Elementary School. God started speaking very clearly in the spring of ‘09, that I would be homeschooling our kids for the next school year. Very shortly after that, it became increasingly clear that I would be quitting my job. After three years of pouring my heart into ministry at church I have turned in my long hours, to instead pour every ounce of me into my precious family. With that decision, and the financial implications, came the transition into the world of homeschool. I have no idea how long we will be in this world, but while God has us here, I intend to experience and cherish every moment I can.
A little about me? I love to create, experience things, and meet new people. I obsessively paint, rearrange furniture, throw parties, and change my hair color. I stay up way too late, way too often. Music can never be turned up too loud and there is always time to dance. There are not many things better on this earth then hugs. One of my favorite things to do is worship, with my husband leading. I recently ended my 20 year love affair with caffeine and am working on becoming a water addict. My days go much smoother when I have time to be with my kids, swing at the park, make something pretty, cook something delicious, kick box for awhile, and just breathe. I could not live with out my friends, they are some of the brightest part of my days. I love my Mac Book and iphone, a little too much. Any type of theater production takes me to my happy place…and in 2010, I am going to learn how to take killer pictures, complete p90x, and sew pillowcase dresses for my girls.
I began blogging in August of ‘09 and have fallen in love with it. It all began with 170 days until summer. A way to remember our year of homeschooling. Since then I decided to expand my blog into something that incorporates more aspects of our family life. Blogging is just a piece of someone. In this piece, I hope to give you a window into our lives. While looking in, I hope that you find something that you can relate to, entertains you, or even inspires you. I have met new friends, connected with old ones, and found true joy in sharing in the lives of many fabulous women. This is a priceless connection.
Thank you for stopping by. If you have an extra minute, introduce yourself…I’d love to meet you…and please come back again.
Hugs,
